10,000 little Tiger Trout have been brought into a pen in the bay at Granite Point for release in the spring.
The eagles continue to fish--when they can find a spot that's open. This eagle tried to ice fish and injured it's wing. We believe the light played tricks on him, and he thought there was a hole where there wasn't. He was sitting on the lake for about an hour or so before he could finally fly away. There is no ice fishing on Loon Lake--not even for the eagles these days.
The lake has over 2" of ice on it now--much more than is shown in this picture.
The mergansers were busy fishing until the lake froze over.
